Well researched, well written and enjoyable

This first hand account of all that goes into survival training is so worth the read. The author obviously has spent countless hours, days and years training men, women and youth in the discipline of the martial arts. His encouragement and training of Marcus Luttrell is a testimony to his abilities and his commitment. Very well written and enjoyable.

VERY PROFOUND

I had the pleasure of picking up my copy of Training Heroes while attending one of Shihan Hunters book signings this past March. As a student this book brought reason to my thoughts. As I had read it, I began to finally truly understand the importance of the relationship Shihan Hunter has with Marcus and Morgan Luttrell. Not only that, but the relationship with all his students and there deeply rooted meanings. The actions and reasons of spoken and unspoken words within true martial arts. An in depth informative and very profound journey inside the mind and soul of a Shihan. A great read for anyone with the desire to learn more about Marcus Luttrells incredible story, life, or Operation Redwing. It's a must read for anyone wanting to strengthen their relationship with the Martial Arts or their own being for that matter...

Fantastic Book a MUST read.

When I learned that Shihan Steve Hunter was writing this book, I couldn't wait to read it. I had read Lone Survivor by Marcus Luttrell and wanted to learn more about his training. Training Heroes is an informative, well written, and compelling book. It answers the questions about how Marcus Luttrell was able to survive in the mountains of Afghanistan, and gives the reader insight into the boy who became the Hero. I am honored to be able to call Steve Hunter a friend, and thank him for writing this book. Shihan Hunter is now training a new generation of heroes, one of whom is my granddaughter.
