Review
"It's not for the feint hearted, granted, but A.R Torre does an incredible job of taking a sensitive subject matter and telling a compelling and thought provoking story... The Girl in 6E is definitely worth a peek."―Jodi Ellen Malpas, #1 New York Times and Sunday Times bestselling author

"A.R. Torre's The Girl in 6E lifts the veil on the dark, erotic world of camming, but the book contains so many more surprises than that. At the novel's core, a tender heart beats, and the increasingly suspenseful pages fly by as its deepest secrets are revealed. This is a taut, edgy, thrill ride, powerfully gripping and impossible to turn away from."―David Bell, author of Never Come Back and Cemetery Girl

"Dark, edgy, and thrilling in a completely unexpected way."―Lisa Renee Jones, New York Times bestselling author of The Inside Out series

"An incredible debut. Gritty, unique, primal, full of angst, oddly feminist, and right up my alley. The Girl in 6E deviates from formulaic romance to deliver something truly special and worthy of praise and attention. A dark soul like me isn't often surprised by controversy or taboo subject matter, but this book delivers and I'll be reading more A.R. Torre books in the future. Kudos!"―CJ Roberts, New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of The Dark Duet

"A taut thriller unlike any suspense novel today."―The Quincy Herald-Whig

"The Girl in 6E is uniquely twisted and captivates from the beginning. The premise is entirely original, as are the characters and the pacing. The main character may be a cold killer, but inside is a woman with a soul who sacrifices everything to keep from unleashing herself on the world.... Torre has written a beautifully warped thriller that will be staying with this reviewer for a long time to come."―RT Book Reviews, Top Pick! (4.5 stars)

My review: The Girl in 6E
By Amazon Customer
***If you are looking for a book about sex and romance this isn't the book for you. You should know that going into this book it's unlike any other book you've read before and it's very unique but don't give this book a bad review because you were expecting hot sex and romance***

This is actually my second time reading this book and unlike with some books it's even more enjoyable the second time around than it was the first. Knowing a little more about what the story was about and what to expect allowed me the second time around to really READ the story. I love this book it's totally and completely unique and I have not read any book that even begins to compare to this book. It was so different from what I read and I LOVED every second of it and would read it again. This book has officially become part of my top 10 favorite books I have read this year so far and will stay in my top 10 for a long time to come.

In this story we meet Deanna Martin but she no longer goes by the name of Deanna she currently goes by the name of Jessica Manchild. Jessica is an online sex cammer who charges $6.99 a minute who's only human interaction are her clients on the internet, Simon her neighbor, and Jeremy the UPS delivery man. What I loved about this book were the clients and her interaction with them, every client is different and at the beginning of each of the client sessions tells you a little about the type of client they are and their interaction with one another. Deanna has her whole life set up for her; she never leaves her apartment, all her food and supplies are delivered to her, and she hasn't been outside of her apartment in three years. Why hasn't she been outside of her apartment for the past three years? Because Deanna has a secret, she has the desire to kill people or more accurately put obsession with murder. Some people get aroused during sex, Deanna gets aroused fantasizing about killing people. She's killed before and decided that for the sake of the town she lives in she will lock herself up and never go outside again so she sits at her computer and makes her living only interacting with Simon who locks her up every night so she doesn't have the urge to open the door and kill someone and Jeremy who delivers her packages and gets a simple, `Leave the package. Thank you' every single time, no face to face contact just words spoken through the door.

You might ask yourself how did she manage to lock herself up in her apartment and have no one miss her? You see, Deanna has no family anymore her mother, father, and siblings are all dead, murdered by her mother and Deanna has developed her mother's psychotic thoughts. Her clients think they know her, that she's a college student who has a life outside of her apartment but they are just fabrications, no one really knows who the true Deanna is.

Jessica. Not my real name. He thought he knew me. They all thought they knew me. Loc. 14

As the book goes on you get to meet her clients and one client sticks out more than the rest. Deanna over the years has met some interesting character guys who like anal play, guys that are into humiliation, but she has an issue with clients that are pedophiles and while some clients in the past have shown these tendencies, she has a feeling that her new client: RalphMA35 wants to hurt a little girl named Annie. Usually these types of clients don't mention names they just have a certain fantasy they want to act out in their minds, but he doesn't just want pink and ruffles and innocence he wants Annie and with the introduction of Annie everything changes for Deanna.

This book is written extraordinarily well and what really helps you connect with the characters is that it's told from more than one view, however the first person view of Deanna's character really helps you to develop a connection with her and feel what she feels. In this book you take a journey through the mind of Deanna and the changes she begins to go through in the book and the one defining moment that changes everything about the way she feels and the way she is. If I could I would give this book a rating of 6 instead of just 5. I love this book and I also loved Blindfolded Innocence which is also written by Alessandra Torre. So if you are looking for something different and unique I highly recommend that you read The Girl in 6E, you won't be disappointed; I know I wasn't.

A Suspense Novel that Packs Heat and Hotness (a Dude review)
By W Perry Hall
I just noticed upon a quick scan over other reviews that most are penned by females, the large majority of whom have written reviews of novels in the erotica genre, a class I've not yet tapped. While my gender (male)/sexual preference (female/wife) certainly lend no extra credence to my review, the combo may provide a potential reader a different perspective.

THE GIRL IN 6E is a 4.5 star suspense novel that kept me spellbound, boiling and bothered.

While certain aspects of this book appear to border on fantasy, and I would have liked to explore further the Girl's character, this book was fun, a frisky tryst from some of the heavier lit on the market, as suspenseful as today's typical fare in the genre and certainly MUCH more arousing.

Ms. Torre changed her name to "A.R." from Alessandra for this book, ostensibly so it would not be viewed as purely in the erotica genre (like her last several novels). This is not erotica, though I am guessing it has a number of the same elements.

A.R. Torre's writing made the Girl in 6E, the protagonist Jess/Deanna, come to life before my internal dilated pupils, dry mouth and accelerating heartbeat. Ms. Torre's future is in the bright lights if she can continue the hard task of blending erotica into suspense. She undeniably has the special combination of writing talent, creativity and pure heat to deliver a blockbuster as good as or maybe better than Gillian Flynn's. She's well on her way.

So Good It's Scary, Seriously!
By Kindred Souls
Oh my goodness, The Girl in 6E, she was such a mystery to me. I wasn't sure how or even if I was going to be able to connect with her. She was peculiar, vague at times, and had such corrupted thoughts/fantasies. I found her personality to be very dark, dry, and flat. Her thoughts were disturbing and contorted to say the least.
But...as the story continued little by little I began to fit the warped puzzle pieces of DeAnna together. By the end of the story I understood the darkness, the isolation, the thoughts, and behavior. I completely fell in love the chick. She's quite the opposite of what she thinks she is. She's damaged, but she's good at her core.
She did horrific things, but those were done for reasons of defense, survival and protection.
There are unfortunate situations that can arise in one's life that are beyond their control. In those situations you have two options: do something about it or don't.
Much to her chagrin, I think DeAnna is a strong, stand up chick who chose to do something. But, because she has a conscience and a good heart buried under the dark psyche, she suffers immensely due the severe psychological repercussions of those actions.
This is book has such a very unique story-line, kudos to Alessandra for creating such an intriguing, twisted story and successfully tying all loss ends together to form this coherent thrilling story.
This is the first book that I have read, where I thought, Wow!, this book needs to be a movie.
I give it 5 Stars!
