This is my story. I was an average student in a typical state school. I was by no means a ‘geek’ or conversely, a ‘bad-boy’. I was just a normal guy. I went to all my lessons and did my homework. I did everything my teachers told me to. BUT, I failed my AS levels.

I was shocked, how did I fail when school had given me all the information I needed to pass the exams? I knew it was something to do with the way I worked and the solution would be to rectify my revision technique. I formulated a handful of simple strategies tailored to the specific type of learning in each of my subjects. I created detailed plans on how to absorb the information to perform and achieve my target of at least 3 A’s out of 4 subjects.

One year later, I finished college with 4 A grades. At university, I used the same principles and techniques to motivate myself, and it worked. Since my AS levels, I have never failed an exam, and I have full faith that I never will. I left UCL (University College London) with a first class honours degree. My results were in the top 5 percent of the year and I was awarded with a commendation of excellence by the Dean of Students.

Over time, with the help of the co-author of this book, I gathered all these techniques and produced a 3 step plan for students. In the first step, method, we tell you what top students do to secure top marks in exams. Here we cover repetition theory, the most effective memorisation techniques and discuss how to tailor your learning technique to the subjects you are taking.

Step 2 is the ‘Study Cycle’. For years I’ve heard the term ‘work hard’ thrown around with no explanation. I believe ‘working hard’ is a skill in itself which must be understood and practiced as much as any A level subject. Here we provide case studies and examples of other students and their day to day habits during the academic year to help you gauge how much is enough.

Step 3 is ‘Motivation’. This section provides the fuel for the ‘Study Cycle’. We show you how to increase your attention span through simple and effective tricks. Furthermore, we discuss the damaging insecurities that hold you back from reaching your maximum potential and help you tackle them head on.

You will Achieve Excellent Grades.

Exceptionally Well written, to include voracious techniques and mind training to Ace any exam. The authors have tested and crossed checked to their techniques with human subjects and proved to be extremely successful, I would grab this book with both hands and read from start to finish, highly recommended.

Among the earliest writings devoted to Osage history and culture, these works provide unique insights into Osage life and especially into European perceptions of American Indians.

William Least Heat-Moon’s introduction poignantly tells of people leaving one alien nation, the United States, to visit an even more alien culture an ocean away. In France the Osages found themselves lionized as “noble savages.” They went to the theater, rode in a hot-air balloon, and even had an audience with the king of France. Many Europeans ogled them as if they were exhibits in a freak show. As the entourage moved through Belgium, Holland, Germany, Switzerland, and Italy, interest in the Osages declined. Soon they were reduced to begging in the suburbs of Paris, without the means to return home.

Translated by Heat-Moon and James K. Wallace, the three featured texts are surprisingly accurate as basic descriptions of Osage history, geography, and lifeways. The French authors, influenced by racist and sexist expectations, misinterpreted some of the behaviors they describe. But they also dismiss rumors of cannibalism among the Osages and observe that “the behavior of some whites . . . was not conducive to giving the Indians a favorable opinion of white morality.”

An Osage Journey to Europe, 1827–1839 offers scholars and general readers both a compelling story and a singular glimpse into nineteenth-century cultural exchange.

A Fine Piece of Native American Studies Scholarship

James Wallace and William Least Heat-Moon's combined efforts have made accessible to the academic community and the general public a series of obscure French documents that chronicle the trials and tribulations of a small group of the Osage tribe who travel to Europe. What begins as an engagement with European royalty ends up as a life of street poverty. The skilled translation of the documents and research into the history of the Osage and this group's experience in Europe not only provide an interesting historical account of this small group, but also U.S and European societies. The prose are complemented by beautiful, color illustrations. This work would be a valuable addition to the libraries of academics studying U.S., tribal, and European cultures as well as the libraries of others interested in the experience of post-contact Native Americans in U.S.

Terry Kovel has been a lifelong collector and expert and has written more than 100 books on antiques and collectibles.� She writes a nationally syndicated newspaper column, a subscriber newsletter, and an e-newsletter.� Terry lives in Cleveland, Ohio.

Kim Kovel, daughter of Terry and Ralph Kovel, caught the collecting bug as a child, growing up in a house filled with antiques and traveling regularly to antique shows and flea markets all over the country. She runs and contributes to the Kovels’ website and has spent the last 10 years working on the Kovels’ price guides and other Kovel projects.

Okay but not enough variety of items in class. Seems as if the book works in conjunction with a secondary causes for themselves or selected dealers. One positive benefit is the identification of maker marks for items.

This is a great reference book

This is a great reference book, especially for morning perk-me-ups.

It contains quote on the left-hand side of the book and one short writeup focusing on one topic on the other side of the book. It is a motivational read early in the morning to spur my day on.

This book cover makes it an awesome coffee table book and provides a quick read for our busy lives. :)

Known to everyone as Anna Moore, successful recruitment agent executive Anna lives a life of solitude and that's how she likes it. She is a lady who knows what she wants and knows how to get it. Her encounters with men are one night stands and meaningless until she meets Ben Pearson.

Ben Pearson is every woman's dream come true. He is good looking, HOT, a good cook, loving, good in bed, HOT, wholesome and did I mention HOT ;)

Ben changes everything and becomes the most complicated part of Anna's life in every way possible.

Ben has to be up there with the best of my leading males :) Seriously if I ever have a son, I'm calling him Ben!!!

There is romance, suspense, action and zero insecurity.

As the first novel of an inde author, Margaret has done a stellar job.

I can't wait read more, I highly recommend this book and have no doubt you'll enjoy it as much as I have.

Loved this book from start to finish! Twisting and turning throughout the entire storyline. Just when you think you have it figured out, it twists again! The main character is so strong and focused, her armor seems almost impenetrable. Almost. The supporting character, which is a man, is nothing less than delicious. The entire book is so fast paced and such a page turner that it was impossible to put down. I just love this story and am looking forward to more!

Wow! I loved this book, what a bloody roller-coaster. I was hooked right from the start and I really didn't want it to end.

Anna's is a killer..Are killers born or are they created?
Anna is a strong, deadly, independent, arrogant at times woman with revenge and killing on her mind.
From the first time she held a gun she knew that she would always want it, need it..Shooting was always easy for her she became a star at the shooting range.Her aim was always on point.

"Mistake number one. There is no warning in this business. There is no second chances. Which is why, I was on top of my game.
There is no hesitation. No second chances. No doubts. No emotions. No feelings."

Her life is turned upside down at the age of 15 when two shady men become interested in her talent and end up destroying her only living family.She has to learn to survive by herself. In a world so cruel that its either kill or be killed.

What happens when things change? What happens when she meets a man she cant stop thinking about and then finds out that he is her next victim.

When Anna meets Ben sparks fly and things seem much more than a one night stand.She cant have that, she cant get close to him but it seems that life has other plans.

At the start of this book you meet a woman who is content in her life, she is a killer and she has embraced her lifestyle there is nothing amiss. At the end of this book you find out that she is much more human than she makes out to be, she wants and needs love as much as everyone else its just that she has been alone for so long and avoids attachments that she feels like she is numb to it all.

This book had everything I needed, it was hot, fast-paced, heart-racing, filled with suspense mystery and much more.All I can say is ..Wow you go girl..now give me book 2 NOW!:D

There were so many unexpected twists and turns I was never bored I felt like I was in an action movie!Oh and I loved Ben, he is amazing all the way through I hope we find out more about him and maybe some more from his POV. This book was in Anna's POV and it's awesome but I want more Ben as well!

Now That We Found Love, What Are We Gonna Do With It

At the end of Book 2, my heartbeat was out of control. Pit pat, pit pat. Rock in my chair. Get up, look out the window. Yes, yes Twyla ended the book on an "OMG, how much more can these two take." There is a breaking point. There is always a breaking point. I was so vested in these two that I could not fathom what was going on for them and to them. Where is the justice. Where is the peace. The love these two had for each other, built on and around pain and understanding, the sacrifices that they were willing to take, the pain they were willing to endure, I was in awe.

What I loved about this book, the Author is as fully committed as the two main characters at getting it just right. This third book did not take forever to come out and the angst did not take forever to settle. We are left making this love and healing work. To remove obstacles and do the necessary work to be free. It was a Cinderella/Cinderfella story, just not the one we grew up with. Their foundation was retrofitted with realistic building blocks, unshakeable. Their love was such that they fought and shadow boxed with life to cling to each other. There were issues of superficiality and entitlement introduced and quickly overlooked. I had one and only one question, the couple are on the way to becoming a force of nature as a major power couple, they do not like what that brings to the table, are they going to give it away? Be ordinary when they were meant to be and live extraordinarily? Loved this series with my whole heart. Life, not love, is painful. Twyla...

I have been on a journey with this series for the past year. I was introduced to the writings of Twyla Turner last year and became a loyal fan right away.
Healing is the conclusion, to the story of Lexi and Sloan, two individuals battling their own demons, but fighting to stay together and live their happily ever after. The final book took me on an emotional rollercoaster that I can’t even explain. One would have to read the previous books to understand and enjoy this story. Sloan and Lexi are finally doing well in their careers and both have developed a somewhat strong sense of self-worth, of course doubt raises and the turmoil comes to life again. Yes I wanted to hurt Sloan at some point for his cowardly behavior on his decision concerning him and Lexis relationship, but I held on! As for Lexi I wanted to shake her ever so often, but had to remember how much baggage she was trying to overcome. These two together are fire, I love how they love, and they have a connection that cannot be ignored. This love story is BEAUTIFUL! If I could give this 10 plus stars I would. I could keep on writing; however all I can say is if you want a damn good read, this is it. Twyla has done it again, solid writing, emotional journey, sexy, sexy love making, and a new playlist for you music fans (When you get this book you will understand). Well done TT!!

I received this book as a ARC for my honest review. This is the final installment of a three book series. I am sad to see that this is the conclusion of Lexi and Sloan's story. It starts right where Open Wounds ended. This is a page turner that will make you cry, get mad and laugh. And it will have you rooting for them and cheering when the finally get their happy ending.

Aaron and Victoria make a brief appearance trying to start drama to break them up. I don't want to give too much away of the book for those who have not read it yet. I highly recommend this series. You have to read Scarred then Open Wounds to understand what they both have to overcome to find peace and happiness. Job well done Twyla Turner. So what do you have next coming out that I am dying to read

The Remarkable Story told well

This is an excellent account of the Wright Brothers and family with plenty of detail to please the early aviation enthusiast. The extent of detail in this book (35 chapters) including coverage of Bishop Wright's ministry within the United Brethren Church of Christ, the Smithsonian controversy involving the Langley aerodrome, details of Katharine's romance with Harry Haskell, and of course all the details of the Wright's inventing process and adventures, reminds me of Tom Crouch's The Bishop's Boys. If you enjoyed The Bishop's Boys, you will treasure this book.

Great Book

This is a great book on the Wright Brothers. It is very detailed and well written. It takes you from their births to deaths and even discusses their father and siblings. If you want a comprehensive book on the birth of flight, this is it. It is a long book, 500+ pages but reads fast like a novel. The only negatives are, it needs more pictures and the writter is from New Zealand (which means he uses some funny words). This is a GREAT BOOK.
